The book “Fundamental Narrative 2: A Historical Account of the Constitutional Law of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, authored by Dr. Mehdi Nouraee, faculty member at Shahid Beheshti University and Head of the Human Rights Department at the Center for Research and the UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Peace and Democracy, has been published.

According to the university’s Public Relations Office, this volume has been released by the Research Institute of the Guardian Council, co-authored with Dr. Ali Bahadori, faculty member at Tarbiat Modares University.

Constitutional law is a field of legal studies that examines the structure and organization of the state, its political regime, the system of governance, the powers and duties of the three branches, as well as individual and social rights and freedoms, elections, political parties, and related subjects — all analyzed within a historical context.

Studying the historical development of constitutional law contributes to a more accurate understanding of the capacities, potentials, and characteristics of a political system.
In line with this objective, the present work, focusing on aspects of the history of constitutional law in the Islamic Republic of Iran, utilizes primary sources, documents, and historical records to explore the complex and deliberate process of the formation of the Islamic Republic and the establishment of some of its key institutions.

Previously, the first volume of “Fundamental Narrative”, which addressed the historical formation of the Regency Council, the Islamic Revolutionary Council, the Provisional Government, and the drafting and revision of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was published by Amir Kabir Publishing House.

It is noteworthy that in recent years, the first volume has been among the best-selling publications of the Research Institute of the Guardian Council.
